01

2–4 weeks

Your stone is grown

Every Diavlia diamond begins as a thin slice of diamond seed in a sealed Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) chamber. Under 800°C heat and microwave-energized carbon gas, carbon atoms deposit on the seed layer by layer. The result is pure crystallized carbon, chemically and optically identical to any mined diamond, grown in 2-4 weeks instead of 1-3 billion years.

  • CVD growth in renewable-energy-powered facilities
  • Grown in the exact shape proportions requested for your ring
  • Rough stone is removed from chamber and prepared for cutting

02

3–5 days

The stone is cut and polished

Master cutters shape the rough diamond to the target specifications. For round brilliants, that means 57-58 precisely positioned facets. For fancy shapes (oval, emerald, cushion, pear), different facet patterns. Every angle is measured in fractions of a degree; a Very Good-cut round requires the pavilion to sit at 40.6-41.8 degrees, the crown at 33.7-35.8 degrees.

  • Cut to Excellent or Very Good standards always
  • Polish and symmetry graded independently
  • Inspected under 10x magnification before grading submission

03

5–7 days

IGI grades and inscribes the stone

The finished stone is sent to the International Gemological Institute (IGI) for independent grading. IGI gemologists examine the stone for carat, cut, color, clarity, polish, symmetry, and fluorescence. The final report is issued, and the report number is laser-inscribed on the girdle (outer edge) of the stone, invisible to the naked eye, visible under 10x magnification. This permanently links the physical stone to its paper documentation.

  • Same grading rigor as natural diamonds
  • Laser inscription is permanent and unique to your stone
  • Paper report ships with the finished ring in a sealed envelope

04

5–10 days

Your setting is cast

While the stone is being graded, your setting is cast in solid 14K, 18K gold, or platinum. We use lost-wax casting: a wax model of the setting is created, encased in plaster, then heated to melt the wax and fill the cavity with molten metal. The result is a one-piece, solid metal setting, no soldered joints in the main structural areas.

  • Solid gold or platinum throughout, never plated or filled
  • Hallmarked for metal purity (14K, 18K, PT950)
  • Pre-polished before stone setting

05

2–5 days

Stones are set by hand

A master setter places your center stone and any accent stones (pavé, side stones, halo) by hand. Each prong is individually tightened to secure the stone without stressing the crystal. Pavé accents are burnished into the metal one by one. Every setting is inspected under magnification; any prong that does not perfectly secure its stone is redone.

  • All prongs pressure-tested before shipping
  • Pavé and halo stones individually burnished
  • Setting heights verified for flush band-stacking

06

1–2 days

Final polish and inspection

The complete ring is polished by hand on felt wheels, removing any tool marks or subtle surface imperfections from setting. It then passes a final inspection: every stone secure, every prong even, every surface mirror-smooth, every engraving legible, every measurement within tolerance. Any ring that does not pass is reworked.

  • Mirror polish on all visible surfaces
  • Ultrasonic cleaning for flawless finish
  • Certified by our quality lead before shipping
