Diamond Necklaces and Chains: What Makes a Fine Piece

Our necklace collection focuses on pieces designed to be worn every day for decades, not replaced every season. Solid gold chains in 14K and 18K, diamond pendants on secure bezel or prong settings, and layered-style designs that hold up against daily wear. Each diamond is IGI-certified; each chain is spring-ring or lobster-clasp secured.

Chain length and style

16 inches sits at the collarbone, 18 inches is the most popular length and pairs with most necklines, 20 inches rests below the collarbone, 22-24 inches is statement length. Cable chains (round links) are classic and strong. Rope chains offer visual texture. Paperclip chains are modern and architectural. Match the chain thickness to the pendant weight, a delicate pendant on a thick chain reads imbalanced.

Pendant specs to verify

Bail size (the loop the chain passes through) should match chain thickness. Diamond clarity of VS2 or better ensures no visible inclusions even at close range where necklaces live. Color F-H is the sweet spot. Most of our pendants are solid 14K gold with IGI-certified center stones.

Layering and gifting

Necklaces are the most common jewelry gift after engagement rings. For layering, mix lengths (16/18/20 inches) and thicknesses. For gifting, 18 inches is the safest length for any neckline. Gift wrapping with handwritten note pocket is included complimentary on every order.
